Resale companies

If you are looking to sell your timeshare, you will receive many calls offering to register it for sale or to arrange a sale with a private buyer.

Many of these will offer very credible contracts to back up their sales pitch. Understandably, sellers are taken in by this trap believing it is finally sold, only to find themselves a year later after being patient in case it does happen, still with their timeshare, down a marketing fee and another year’s maintenance. Because the industry has a bad name. Many timeshare owners are simply trying to get out, but very few members of the public are buying in.

Therefore, various Companies are cashing in on the masses trying to sell. Do not be fooled by them.

The first golden rule is NEVER paying the Company any upfront fee. (E.g. admin, advertising, commission and legal costs). If you are going to pay for something that is justified like accommodation then you are usually ok. If they are offering free accommodation, ask yourself WHY?

Many companies offer to register you free on their website or presentation programme. This is simply a ploy to gain your trust, ready for asking for their fee when a contractual buyer is presented to you. This fee, is what the Company intends to KEEP with no refund. This is the ONLY way they make their money. They are very clever how they get it out of you. Before you give the fee, you will be harassed with very friendly phone calls.

After payment, you will struggle to get any contact with the company, and will get the feeling you are being palmed off, because you are. They do not want you to contact. The longer you do not contact, the greater the chance they have of keeping your fee. Many offers they give you are very attractive for a reason. They are dangling a carrot for their own gain.

Below is a pricing guideline for timeshare if you are choosing the Resale route. Remember, we are NOT a Resale Company. We do NOT advertise to the public, because they do NOT purchase timeshare with out the hard sell, and if they did, for the amount they would pay, it would not be worth our while. We advertise to Companies that have a use for timeshare. They make an offer based on what it worth to them. It will be less than what the resort is charging new, but generally higher than the Resale values below.

Good luck with selling, and beware of Resale offers!
